I spent 25+ years in health research before realising that I wanted to help people more directly - sitting behind a desk writing papers just wasn’t going to cut it for the rest of my working life. I decided to make the leap and went back to school to become a Registered Psychotherapist, offering mental health support to women in Toronto.
I've always wanted to help with their mental health, but my experiences in the last few years have really driven my current passion to help women find the confidence to change what is in their control and accept what is not (and know the difference). We spend our lives convincing ourselves that we'll be happy if could just ___[find a pattern, change how we look, move jobs, fix our relationship etc.], but then find ourselves years later in exactly the same position as before.
I don't want that to be your story anymore.
I want you to stop waiting around and enjoy your life now.
I really believe in partnership - I don’t enjoy telling people what to do (well, maybe a little bit!), but in therapy, I want this to be a joint effort between you and me. We all want the quick fix, but unfortunately, life is not that accommodating. So, let’s work together to look at what’s not working in your life and figure out a new way for you to think about yourself.

I launched my practice to help women find more joy in their life and not let negative thinking, anxiety or difficult circumstances get in the way. Is this always easy? Nope. But I’m going to be there to help guide you all along the way.
I’m an astute critical thinker and skilled at spotting patterns in human behaviour. I offer a warm and compassionate perspective but am comfortable gently challenging people when I see opportunities for them to grow.
I’m not going to just dispense advice or tell you what to do; instead, I’ll lead you through a process of understanding yourself better, discovering what’s important to you and getting yourself ‘unstuck’.
I bring a fresh perspective to therapy, combining my skills in finding therapy techniques that are supported by research with my love of connecting with people at a deep level.
You’re my priority, so we’ll work on whatever is most important to you. And if you’re so overwhelmed you don’t even know where to start, we’ll figure out it out together.
I aim to provide a welcoming and affirming space for everyone so that you can express your thoughts and feelings freely. You can tell me anything you would like to share (but I’m not going to make you talk about things you don’t want to talk about).
I have a PhD in Health Psychology from the UK and a MA in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I’m registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (as all psychotherapists must be in Ontario) and am a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
After working with me, clients often say they feel 'lighter', more hopeful, empowered and 'unstuck'.
Therapy often doesn’t end when the session finishes- I’ll frequently go off and research something you’ve mentioned or look for resources that you might find helpful. You’ll learn that I do love a good resource!
I keep it real. I'm all in during sessions and will talk about anything that is important to you.
Stop wasting time and energy focusing on things that are out of your control. Let's empower you to figure out what you do have control over and how to cope more effectively with the rest.
